G-sync is popular for two things: it gives you an extremely smooth gaming experience and it’s very costly. Unfortunately, those are the breaks, as G-Sync monitors fall under Nvidia’s greater scrutiny and quality assurance, not to mention the expensive proprietary G-Sync module. Well, I must say those are the breaks, as the cost of G-Sync displays has been falling precipitously more recently. Additionally, at the beginning of the year, Nvidia allowed G-Sync to operate on FreeSync, extending the availability of Nvidia’s VRR technology to a much larger group of affordable FreeSync gaming monitors.
Now we have scoured the absolute bottom to make sure you’re looking at only the best and most affordable G-Sync monitors that won’t drain your wallet or be absolute garbage.
Gigabyte’s Aorus CV27Q is the best 1440p gaming monitor when it comes to high-speed gaming performance.
1. Acer Nitro XF252Q
The Acer Nitro XF252Q is a pretty spectacular monitor that can be found regularly for about $350, making it currently available as the cheapest G-Sync monitor. This 1080p displays a TN panel having a response time of 0.3ms and a refresh rate of 240Hz. This is a gaming monitor tuned specifically for competitive gaming and Esports, with specs like those. However if you’re as willing to look at a nice picture, it happens that the Nitro XF252Q is also an HDR-ready monitor.
2. Dell 24 Gaming Monitor
The Dell Gaming S2417DG is also about maxing out my $500 budget for a cheap G-Sync monitor, but its cost is well worth it. It gives a spectacular QHD image (2,560 x 1,440), which is almost absolutely bezelless. Most specifically, it features the ritzy G-Sync technology from Nvidia, a super-fast refresh rate of 165Hz, and a minimum response time of 1ms. It’s a little at just24-inch on the small side but at this price point you can’t really ask for a better G-Sync display.
3. Viotek GFT27DB
Viotek may not be a brand you’ve heard of before, yet I can guarantee you that the GFT27DB is one of the most inexpensive and finest G-Sync compatible displays you can purchase. Even though this is technically a gaming monitor for Freesync, the monitor we reviewed for the Viotek GFT27DB also had no problems working with G-Sync. This display also offers a bright 1440p image at a fast refresh rate of 144Hz and a quick response time of 1ms. Although the Viotek GFT27DB uses a TN screen, it also makes a remarkably wide color gamut and deep black rates.
4. Samsung CRG5
Esports demands virtually zero tearing of the biggest gaming displays around. Fortunate for you, the Samsung CRG5 manages all of these things with gusto and with little booting mone. With such a monitor, in buttery smooth animation, you will see everything you do in gameplay. Rather than seeing motion blurring or tearing every single frame you see on this monitor, it will be perfectly crisp and highly detailed, ideal for quick, jumpy games. But it still supports both FreeSync and G-Sync.
5. Dell 27 Gaming Monitor
If you are able to find the Dell S2716DG for around $450 it is a smokin offer. The 27-inch TN panel has a 3ms response time, but setting the response time in the Quick menus gets it down to the Holy Grail level of 1ms. The G-Sync enabled 144Hz refresh rate is awesome and operates really well at its display settings of 2,560 x 1,440. This is also a great resolution for this size of the panel, making it easy to read without any scaling required. It also has a port for the USB 3.0 hub.
