What makes a run a world record?
Following this announcement, a run will only be recognized as a World Record on this page if it meets these criteria: The run must follow all of the rules for its particular category. The run must be played on an official console platform which is not explicitly banned for that particular category.
Do emulator runs qualify for world record?
There is oneexception to the above: Any category where emulator runs are not hidden by default nor separated from console runs may have emulator runs qualify for World Record, provided the approved emulator is used. The run must be presented in a single video from start to finish.
