How do I apply for LIHEAP in Illinois 2021?

or call the Illinois LIHEAP Hotline at 1-877-411-9276. The LIHEAP application period is September 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022, or until funding is exhausted. Contact your local Community Action Agency to make an appointment to apply for LIHEAP.

When does the LIHEAP program start?

Our upcoming program starts on September 1, 2021. If you got a benefit this past year, you can submit a new application then. In addition, we offer Reconnection Assistance to anyone, even if they’ve already gotten a LIHEAP benefit. If you are facing disconnection, please submit another application or call us so we can help.
