It is possible to supply Lava to the Geothermal Generator using BuildCraft’s Waterproof Pipes or Thermal Expansion’s Liquiduct. It will also accept lava directly from an adjacent BuildCraft Pump.

How do you get lava into your generator?
You can use cans to get the lava or use a pump and some pipes to pump it directly into the generator. I just carry a stack of empty cans whenever I go caving or to the Nether and fill ’em up if/when I run into lava. Then I come home and plop them into the generator.
Can geothermal generators accept lava buckets?
Geothermal Generators accept both Lava Buckets and Lava Cells. The Lava Cells are stackable and thus require less maintenance, but cost 4 Tin ingots to produce. Lava source blocks (obtained from NEI or crafted using UU-Matter) cannot be used.
Can you pump lava from the Nether into the overworld?
