Where to Travel in 2016
For the past two years, Oli and I have spent Christmas in the UK with our families and have swiftly departed to warmer climes in the early days of the New Year. So this year will be a little strange as we are firmly staying put in London. New Year will be spent in our local, The Andover Arms, and after attempting to enjoy some time off together (Oli is off work, I am never off work!) we'll head back to normality.
Which, I can't deny, is a weird feeling. It's finally sinking in that we aren't going off on another adventure and I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it. Needless to say, I've got some potentially exciting opportunities work wise and a wedding to look forward to. What I'm most excited about though, is the Honeymoon. Hence this list of places I am wanderlust-ing over.
I am, by no means an authority on where to travel, but it's time to count it down anyway. Let's face it, I'm currently in a food coma and can't think of much, beyond travelling to a nice hot country and making like a beach whale.
Which one will I go to? Hopefully all, but at least 2 by July.....that's the goal so feel free to shout at me in July if I have neglected to meet it.
Jordan is so high up on the list, it's a guaranteed trip. I can't wait to head back to the Middle East, back to my roots haha, and eat my body weight in delicious food. Jordan is a little special, and definitely a safe haven in the turmoil of the Middle East so it's a no-brainer.
Ahhhh Hawaii. I have had a long time love affair with this state, and have wanted to go for as long as I can remember. The fact that Hawaii would be my first trip to the U.S is pretty mind blowing, and ideally I would love to make it a bigger trip.....but I'd settle for 2 weeks under a palm tree.
both Northern and ROI
Given that I live pretty close, it's really ridiculous that I have only been to Belfast & Dublin. I'm keen to explore some of the countryside, and enjoy some Atlantic views on the coast.
It's no secret that I adore Greece. I am keen to have a little city break to Athens, and show Oli how amazing it is. Adding some side trips to Meterora, or Thessaloniki is on the agenda also.,
A few years ago we went to Dubrovnik and I was so keen to take a side trip to Montenegro....but I think we got a little lazy? Can't remember. Anyway, I didn't end up going then so am determined to make it there this year.
Bey0nd seeing the Northern Lights, and eating lots of food, I really want to catch up with my Koh Tao friends Jennie and Gary who moved there recently.
