A Little Bit of Summer Beauty
This is short post, so don't stop reading, it won't take long. Honest. I've been reconnecting (yes, I said reconnecting) with some of my lovely lovely beauty products (which I'm not ashamed to say I missed massively whilst travelling) and I thought I'd share some of my recent faves. La Roche Posay Physiological Cleansing Gel
I do not know why the fudge I didn't bring this travelling with me. It's amazing. I have (well documented) crap skin and prey on "dermatologist approved" brands, and this one comes with that kudos (including some love from my dermatologist friend) . La Roche Posay is French for goodness sakes, so it's cool by birthright. And it has a pump! Bonus.
Clinique Even Better Foundation
Clinique is another of those non-sexy-but-goodforyourskin- brands and I've used a lot of their products religiously for years now. I rarely stray from using their Anti Blemish foundation which has salicylic acid in to keep spots at bay, but with my tan and dryer skin post travelling I needed something else. I visited the Clinique counter at Fenwicks Canterbury (sorry HoF, there's nowt else down here) and was advised to try Even Better instead -- I love it! It gives a sort of airbrushed look I think, and is oil free so whilst not a treatment foundation -- it shouldn't aggravate anything.
Sidenote....I've been using it with Clinique Pore Refining Solutions instant perfectot (primer extroadinaire). Love it.
Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner
OMG I missed this sooooo much when I was away! I think you can see how much I use it by the massive shabbiness of it in this shot! Eyeliners simply won't stay out on my oily hooded lids. It's so annoying. This budget beauty gem is my saviour, and to be honest -- you don't even need the waterproof one to get a long lasting effect, as it stays out regardless. I'm almost out, so I'm very much looking forward to a big Boots shop soon.
Bare Minerals Tinted Mineral Veil
I like Bare Minerals, but I don't love their products if you know what I mean......I kinda thought the whole mineral jazz would fade out but that shows how knowledgeable I am about Beauty because it hasn't really. Whoopsy. Mineral Veil is actually the 'setting powder' in the Bare Minerals routine so I wasn't sure about using it over a liquid foundation (as I never use powder normally, and hate a matte look)....but I'll try any Beauty product once -- and the lovely Beauty Fairy Godmother who gave it to me knew it would come in handy as it is both SPF25 and Tinted! I would highly recommend it.
What are your fave beauty products? What are you using in this unnaturally hot British Summer?
