Beautiful Berry Makeup For Autumn

IMG_2202.jpg

I don't know what it is about seasonal makeup but it seems to veer towards the typical every year, whilst ranting and raving about how 'new' it all is. As a contrarian I tend to shun the season, favouring Coral lips in Winter and dark nails in Summer if it so takes my fancy. Wild, I know. This Winter is a bit different though, perhaps because I spent the first 7 months of the year in perpetual Summer, and i am gravitating towards beautiful Berry makeup. IMG_2201.JPG

Thus far, I've been keeping it mostly to my cheeks and eyelids although not at the same time. However I have a hankering to try a Berry lip and one has conveniently fallen into my lap courtesy of A La Carte Cosmetics who kindly invited me to their coutique in Knightsbridge and gave me free reign to play with the makeup.

Gushing about A La Carte Cosmetics aside (and be warned, there will be more posts in that vein) I'm pretty much reaching for my Maybelline 24hr Tattoo Eyeshadow in Vintage Plum daily. It's insanely easy to apply and does.not.budge. Seriously, I have annoyingly oily eye lids (weird issue to have, I know) so nothing stays put, and before you say it -- not even gel, and not even with a primer. But this magical stuff totally does so I forgive the weird 'Leather' effect it promises. Why the fudge would you want leathery eyelids?

I'm no PixiWoo so you aren't gonna get a tutorial here but these are the things I am grabbing daily to get my Berry on.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Metallic Pomegranate

Cosmetics A La Carte Lipstick in Fig

Nars Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Trash

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Sandglow

Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in Apparence (this colour is discontinued however Mirage is very similar)

Are you a Berry Makeup Addict or do you prefer your Berries in a crumble?
