Annual Roundup - 14 Months of Travel
I truly wanted to make this blog more cohesive and 'neat' by having a roundup pretty early on. It's been one of the things I've had on my to-do list for ever and have, with some reticence, put off month after month......but when Wordpress reminds you that it's your anniversary of starting a blog, and you realise just what you've achieved over the last 12 months or so -- it seems bonkers not to reminisce and reflect.
What a difference a year makes.
In 2013 I was working in an office job dreaming of travel, and of not working in an office anymore. When Oli got made redundant, the seed was sown and we planned 6 months away, coming back to our jobs before the end of the year.
We flew to Sri Lanka in January 2014, and haven't stopped travelling since. We've come back to London to earn some more money and recharge our batteries a bit, taken shorter breaks and even travelled separately a couple of times but we haven't stopped.
After a few weeks back in London, seeing friends and family we are off again. In April, we fly to Bangkok and plan to head straight back to Koh Tao. We have a one way ticket with no solid plans to speak of, bar attending TBEX in October, and are relishing the white blank page ahead of us -- no plans, no limits and nowhere we have to be.
