Is Emax more esthetic than zirconia?
As mentioned before, E. MAX is more translucent than zirconium, and that’s the only noticeable difference between the two materials. At Dental Excellence Turkey our dentists using both zirconia and E. MAX for both anterior teeth and posterior teeth.
Why is Emax purple?
The e. max CAD glass-ceramic has a flexural strength of ~360 Mpa, which is approximately 2 1/2 times greater than other ceramic blocks available for the CEREC system for chair-side restorations. The purple to blue color of the block is due to the composition and structure of the pre-crystallized glass-ceramic.
How long do Emax veneers last?
How long do Emax veneers last? Emax veneers usually last at least 15 years if they are well taken care of. That includes flossing and brushing every day. After that time, patients usually ask for them to be changed, purely for cosmetic reasons.
What is the difference between lithium disilicate and zirconia?
Strength and longevity Lithium disilicate crowns are monolithic. Zirconia-based crowns are veneered with a relatively weak ceramic material. Because of this fundamental difference in composition, the behavior of these crowns could be quite different over time.

Can porcelain crowns be adjusted?
If the crown is made out of porcelain, it’s difficult to reshape the crown but slight adjustments can be made if need be. However, if a larger adjustment is needed, the entire process may need to be redone.
