I have a history of birthday avoidance. And birthday denial too. If you don’t know what that is, then look around you — someone you know will have it, I promise – with a capital P. The person who claims that they ‘don’t give a sh@t about birthdays, literally no big deal” yet also reminds you of their impending ‘big day’ several weeks, maybe even months in advance……
This is me.
If you saw last week’s photo of the week, which was also from my birthday…..you may have already guessed this. Anyway, that was last years birthday shenanigans and this photo of the week, is from the year before that, when we house-sat a revolting amount of pets in rural France. Using Trusted Housesitters for the first time was an exciting experience, and I became overwhelmed with the romance of it all — a farm in New Zealand, a winery in Italy, a former yoga retreat that has never been cleaned in France….hmm, yep – that’s what we ended up with. Oh, and I got conjunctivitis.
It was actually really good fun, and we were blessed with ridiculously beautiful weather. We also had bicycles and were lucky enough to be living in one of the most picturesque places in the world. It was the romantic France of my dreams, and the village actually had nothing more than a boulangerie, and a traditional French bistro. Which we spent my birthday stuffing our faces at for approx £12.
