#I’m Leaving Ooooooon a Jet Plane, Don’t Know When I’ll Be Back Agaaaaain……#
We do know when we’ll be back again. End of Feb. That little error aside though, we are indeed leaving on a jet plane, courtesy of British Airways (racking up the Avios) bound for Singapore, our favourite airport in the world.
We booked these flights way back when in the big BA sale and at that point, we planned to come back in May flying premium economy like the ballers we are, on the way back. Life happens though, and as I’ve mentioned before we are now coming back earlier for a work commitment in March.
So what are we doing with our 8 or so weeks away?
As soon as we get to Singapore we fly straight out to Indonesia (Yes, we are flying Air Asia) which we booked after the tragic crash last week as the flights were a little cheaper.
First stop is Bali, where we will be staying in Sanur for the first 3 nights at least. I found a great little apartment on AirBnB and the very nice couple have let us check in at the disgusting hour of midnight (we will definitely be bringing gifts for their troubles!).
Plans thereafter are a content 0. We are leaving things really open, as we learned last time it was best to relax and let things happen. Or to coin a cringe-worthy phrase — “Go with the flow”. We want to check Bali out an enjoy the beautiful weather (currently it is about 33ºC) and generally be beach bums for a while. We may hit up a yoga retreat or ashram in Ubud and we will almost certainly be snorkelling whenever we can.
One of the reasons we chose to stay in Sanur when on Bali was the proximity to Nusa Lembongan. Although Bali is decidedly small, we thought it would be a good idea to get as close as possible ‘cos really, we hate haggling with taxi drivers more than anything (Oli gets stressed and I get bored). We are super excited to head to Nusa Lembongan as we have it on good authority from a friend who lived in Bali (I know, how lucky!) that it is gorgeous and an absolute must see.
After we get bored of beach bummimg (yeah, it happens) we are aiming to hit up Lombok and potentially hike Mount Rinjani which we’ve read about and are super keen to do. It’s a volcano people!
The only other plans we have are to head to Bangkok to meet our friend Lucy who arrives on the 13th Feb and is gonna travel with us and our friend Ruth for a couple of weeks. We’ll part ways at the end of Feb when she catches her flight home from Bangkok, and we head to….you guessed it, Singapore.
So now, we need your help. We have a couple of weeks that we anticipate we will be free inbetween Indonesia and Thailand and can’t decide where to go. Ideally it will be somewhere you can either fly to on a cheap Air Asia flight, or get to by boat.
