A day late! Whoops. Blame the fact I spent yesterday eating my bodyweight in sugar on a delicious foodie tour with Urban Adventures.
It’s almost time for World Travel Market, the annual trade show attended by every tourist board in the universe and most of the press too. It’s my fourth time at the event, and I have to say it never gets any less intense. My first year was hell…..I felt like a fish out of water, with no idea what I was doing. For some reason I had a Buyers badge (as opposed to a Press one) so I was felt totally out of place. I wasn’t comfortable with my blog (which wasn’t in its current iteration) and felt like a fraud…..a familiar feeling.
But then something amazing happened. This year, I stopped giving a sh@t. And after shifting focus and becoming a journalist, with my blog as more of a hobby (albeit a bloody time intensive one that does also pay me!) opportunities opened up. This year, far from having to hustle like crazy — my time is pretty much booked for the full three days. I have lovely blogger friends who I’ll get to hang out with and I’m genuinely excited for the parties too. Oh, and I am nominated for an award too…..it feels like they made a mistake, but hey ho — I’m taking the compliment!
So after that tangent — this is what I’ve been up to on Instagram this past week, and who’s work I’ve been loving (give them a follow.) FYI – my Instagram gallery is so cluttered I am not happy with it at all.
A fellow Luce in charge of the awesome travel blog On The Luce, you can expect wanderlust-worthy images organised to perfection and practical tips for travelling when you have a job.
Victoria introduced me to Giulia last night and I am 100% fan-girling all over her feed. What this lady doesn’t know about getting the best cinnamon bun in London isn’t worth knowing. No word of a lie – I quizzed her on donuts too. She’s amazing!
The lovely Sophie has a gorgeous travel & lifestyle blog and her feed’s not too shabby either! I love her quirky mix of travel photography from the UK and around and drool-worthy brunch shots.
If you like to swoon over pretty little London, but want it mixed up with some round the world stuff too — Brenna’s your gal! She also has awesome style, so I’m often partial to stalking her outfit shots. Check out her blog, chock full of gorgeous travel storytelling.
I discovered Holly though Jen Carrinton’s Make it Happen podcast, and I’ve adored her Instagram feed ever since. She’s a professional photographer and often posts amazing shots of her home renovations, which I lap up!
